Bancheri was inducted into the Golden Eagles Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. He was University of Charleston’s first Women's Rowing coach but also coached at Wichita State, West Virginia University, Marietta College and Grand Valley State University.
During his time coaching his team earned a team high GPA, two Gold Medals at SIRA Women's Rowing Championships and recruited four Presidential Scholars. Bancheri also was a US Olympic Festival Coach and won National Coach of the Year.
He coached the Men's Varsity 8, Dad Vail Men's JV 8 Championship, Dad Vail Men's Freshman 8 Championship 3Xs to National Rankings. His team also recieved the Dad Vail Men's Team Point Trophy.
Bancheri also was a Dad Vail Seeding Committee Chair and a ZBT Fraternity Co Founder.
