Dickensheets was inducted into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

He was a force in broadcasting for more than 40 years, doing everything from staff announcing to running both WCHS and WQBE AM as general manager. He brought "Sports Talk" to WV radio and did excellent play-by-play of Charleston's professional baseball teams, University of Charleston, WV State and many high schools.

He also was the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Sports Information Director at West Virginia State College.
