Karen was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998. She was a 3 year letter winner in both tennis and volleyball. She was a President's Key Award Winner and a National Dean's List Scholar.

During her tennis career, she was named All WVIAC at #1 Position three times and All WVIAC at #5 Position three times. She was also mentioned in the ‘Who’s Who Outstanding College Athlete Nominations’.
