Karen ‘Pineapple’ was a duel athlete in basketball and volleyball. 

On the volleyball team she was named WVIAA Tournament Most Valuable Player, two time WVIAA All Conference and two time WVIAA All Tournament.

On the basketball team she was a 4 year letter winner and named All American, WVSSC All Conference 4 times and WVSSC All Region 4 times. She also became a member of the 1000 Point Club.

After graduating in 1980, Karen played professionally for the San Francisco Pioneers.
