Gordon compiled one of the most impressive records ever at Morris Harvey College as a member of the Golden Eagle Men's Tennis team from 1970 to 1972, finishing his career at a near perfect 36-1 in WVIAC singles matches.  He won the WVIAC singles championship and his Golden Eagles won the WVIAC team championship three consecutive seasons in 1970, '71, & '72.  For his accomplishments, Gordon was named WVIAC Player of the Year in 1970 and 1971.
