In Wednesday’s tight matchup against Concord, Evan Faulkner (Sandyhook, Ky.) came through in the clutch. The close game ended up in the 25th ranked Golden Eagles in a 69-64 victory and one of the closest matches encountered in a while. Faulkner had nerves of steel, sinking two threes at pivotal moments and gaining momentum for Charleston as he finished with 11 points and three rebounds.
Against top conference rival, Faulkner refused to be crushed under pressure in the physical match and booked 11 points tying as the top scorer in the first half. Ending the afternoon with 13 points, he aided in the Golden Eagles 23rd win and finished a season that is recorded at one of the top ten successes in Charleston’s 94 year history with this program.
After this rival victory on Saturday night, Charleston secured a no. 2 seed for the conference tournament, which will be home at Eddie King Gym at 7:30 pm, Tuesday the 28th.
