Accessible Seating

Alcohol Policy
  • Alcoholic beverages are not available for purchase at the Welch Athletic Complex.
  • The ingress and consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted.
Aircraft & Drone Policy
  • The University of Charleston Athletic Department asks that you please adhere to FAA policies, per the NOTAM document concerning flight restrictions, for sporting events. No flight operation may take place within three nautical miles, nor up to 3,000 feet around the perimeter of the complex, from one hour prior to the start of the event until one hour after its completion.
Animals
  • Only animals which are trained to assist guests with disabilities are allowed inside of the Welch Athletic Complex.
ATMs
  • There are no ATMs available at the Welch Athletic Complex. ATMs are available on campus in the Geary Student Union on the first floor.
Banners and Signs
  • Banners and signs, except those associated with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, are not permitted inside of the Welch Athletic Complex.
Cameras
  • Cameras are permitted. Tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited.
 
Concessions
  • Concessions are located on the concourse. The concession stand accepts cash only.
Conduct
  • Obnoxious, threatening, or inconsiderate behavior such as profanity and abusive language, smoking in prohibited areas, fighting, and drunkenness will not be tolerated and can result in ejection, arrest, and/or loss of future attendance privileges. Standing on seats/bleachers is strictly prohibited and throwing of any objects in (or from) the stands, including paper and plastic cups, are also prohibited.
Coolers, Containers and Bottles
  • No coolers (including soft sided), metal or glass containers are allowed in the stadium. Only soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages in clear, sealed plastic bottles, as well as empty plastic bottles, are allowed.
Directions
  • From the North: Travel I-77 South or I-79 South into Charleston. Follow the signs to I-64 West. Take Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs to State Route 61 South (MacCorkle Avenue). Once on State Route 61 South (MacCorkle Avenue), travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.
  • From the South: Travel I-77 North (West Virginia Turnpike). Go through downtown Charleston (ignore the UC sign at MacCorkle Avenue) to I-64 West. Take Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs toward State Route 61 South. Once on State Route 61 South (MacCorkle Avenue), travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.
  • From the East: Travel I-64 West or I-79 South. From I-64, go through downtown Charleston (ignore the UC sign at MacCorkle Avenue), continuing West. Take Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs toward State Route 61 South. Once on State Route 61 South (MacCorkle Avenue) travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.
  • From the West: Travel I-64 East to Charleston. Take the Oakwood Road Exit 58A and follow the signs to State Route 61 South. Once on State Route 61 South (MacCorkle Avenue), travel approximately 1.5 miles. The campus is on the left.
Emergency Evacuations
  • In case of emergency, please exit the complex using the concourses and two gates located in the front of the complex. We ask fans to remain calm and follow any and all instructions from UC personnel, as well as the PA announcer.
Field Entrances
  • We ask and encourage all fans to please stay off of the field at the Welch Athletic Complex.
  • The NCAA policy prohibits fans from entering the field of play, unless they are properly credentialed or accompanied by an authorized staff member. Violators are subject to arrest.
Food Allergies
  • Please be advised that food prepared here may contain these ingredients: Milk, Eggs, Wheat, Soybean, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish, and Shellfish.
Gate Openings
  • Gates open one hour before kickoff.

Inclement Weather
  • In the event of inclement weather approaching the Welch Athletic Center, public address announcements will be made to update fans on the situation. Should a lightning strike occur within close proximity of the stadium, play will be suspended immediately. Updates may also be communicated via ucgoldeneagles.com and on Twitter @ucwv_athletics
Lost and Found
  • Lost and found is maintained during the game at the concession stand, located at the front of the complex.
Parking
  • Parking is available free of charge in the parking lot next to the TC Energy on the west side of the complex.
  • There are also a limited number of ADA parking spots available on a first-come first-serve basis in the lot directly to the right of the Welch Athletic Complex.
Prohibited Items
  • To ensure the safety, comfort and convenience of our guests, the following items may not be brought into the stadium: coolers of any kind, laser pointers, selfie sticks, drones, alcoholic beverages, weapons, toilet paper, flares, fireworks, any flag, sign or banner deemed offensive by the event staff, and other items determined to be harmful or disruptive.
  • The Mountain East Conference and the NCAA do not have policies regarding the use of artificial noisemakers. Per NCAA rules, the referee has the discretionary power to suspend the game, stop the clock, or direct the removal of such noisemakers.

  • In case of a medical emergency or a direct threat to safety, please call 911.

Smoking Policy and Tobacco use
  • Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) and tobacco is not permitted inside of the Welch Athletic Complex.
Social Media Stadium Re-entry
  • Stadium re-entry is allowed.
Strollers
  • Strollers are permitted at the Welch Athletic Complex.
Umbrellas
  • Umbrellas may be permitted in the Welch Athletic Complex at the discretion of event staff.
