UC Stadium at Laidley Field

UC Stadium at Laidley Field is home to Charleston's Football and Outdoor Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams. Erected in 1979, the field was originally owned fully by Kanawha County Schools. However, after a lack of funding from the school board in 2003, the University of Charleston donated over $1.5 million to renovate the entire complex in exchange for naming rights and field access. Additions included full turf, new locker rooms, and a sky box. A number of middle school and community teams use the field for football games as well.

Home to the Women's and Men's Outdoor Track and Field Teams at UC every year Charleston hosts it's annual Golden Eagle Invitational Meet. The stadium also hosts the West Virginia High School Track and Field State Meets every year. Additionally, local middle and high schools use the track as a practice facility throughout the year. It also hosts the Gazette-Mail Kanawha County Majorette and Band Festival, an annual marching band festival held at the end of September.
