Saunders, a sophomore from Woodmere, Ohio, led UC by averaging a double-double (19 points and 13 rebounds) in its two victories. Against rival West Virginia State, Saunders had 15 points and 14 rebounds while also handing out three assists. Against Fairmont State, Saunders poured in a game-high 23 points, including the game-clinching free throws, to go with 12 rebounds.

For her outstanding play for the week Monet was named MEC Player of th Week, her first time winning the achievement.
