CALIFORNIA, Pa. – California (Pa.) converted two penalty kick on the afternoon to earn a 2-1 win over No. 23 Charleston (W.Va.), Monday in California, Pa.

Nationally-ranked Charleston got on the board first at the 49:21-mark after Vulcan Nemanja Visekruna was assessed a yellow card, setting up the first of three penalty kicks on the day. Sophomore Rob Vincent (Liverpool, England / Prescot School) was able to find the back of the net for his fifth goal of the season .

Just over seven minutes later, Visekruna was called upon to take a penalty kick for the Vulcans following a yellow card by the Golden Eagles, which he converted to knot the game at 1-1. Visekruna’s second penalty kick occurred at the 72:12 mark and he again delivered to put the Vulcans ahead for good, 2-1.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, October 20 for a 3:00 pm match against conference opponent Alderson-Broaddus at Schoenbaum Stadium.
