CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston women's tennis team looks to continue its history of contending for the conference championship, which it last held in 2008, when they begin the WVIAC Tournament, Friday morning.
Kanawha Valley rivals West Virginia State and Charleston are the top seeds as the event gets underway Thursday . The Yellow Jackets and Golden Eagles split matches this season with WVSU handing Charleston its only loss of the season in the final week of the regular season.
Saturday's champion earns a bid into next spring's NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional.
UC will face the winner of the Concord vs Davis & Elkins match being played Thursday evening at Coonskin Park in Charleston.
