CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Senior Lindsey Kentner shot 9-for-11, including 5-of-11 from three point land as she paced the University of Charleston women's basketball team in a 78-51 win over visiting Central State (OH), Saturday evening.
The Golden Eagles (3-1) held the Marauders (3-2) to shooting a dismal 27.6 percent (8-of-29) from the floor in the first half as UC used a fast-paced offense to run out to a 31-19 lead at the break.
Charleston came out of the break to shoot 64 percent (21-of-33) while taking the game in hand with constant pressure on the Central State offense. The pressure forced CSU into 22 turnovers on the evening, while the fast paced offense for Charleston accumulated 25 assists. Ali Tobias led all players with seven assists, while netting six points and four rebounds.
The University of Charleston gets back to action against pre-season favorite West Liberty at 5:15 pm on Thursday, December 2.
