Second Half Letdown Dooms Women's Basketball

GLENVILLE, W.Va. -
After carrying a six-point lead into halftime, the University of Charleston was outscored 50-29 in the second half as it fell 89-74 Monday night at Glenville State.

The Golden Eagles (9-5 overall, 5-3 West Virginia Conference) shot 41.9 percent from the floor in the first half but just 31.3 percent in the second, including 12.5 percent from the 3-point line. Meanwhile, the Pioneers went from 33.3 percent shooting in the opening half to 46.7 percent in the second. The Eagles also committed 29 turnovers for the second-straight contest.

Tenisha Wilson had 19 points for Glenville State (9-5, 7-2) while Mishae Miles had 14 and Kenyell Goodson 11. Lindsey Kentner had 19 points for UC while Ali Tobias recorded 18 and Tiana Beatty along with Tarena Dixon scored 11 apiece. Dixon tossed in 10 rebounds for Charleston for her sixth double-double this season.

Charleston looks to rebound at home against Wheeling Jesuit on Thursday, January 13 for a 6:00 pm tipoff in Eddie King Gym.
