EDINBORO, Pa. - The University of Charleston women's soccer team ran into a tough task against the No. 3 team in the Atlantic Region and found what the upper-level of regional play holds as the Fighting Scots ran away with a 3-0 win, Saturday afternoon.
Charleston (3-4-1) held their own in the first half of the contest to take Edinboro (9-2) into the halftime break scoreless.
The second half saw the Fighting Scots show why they are one of the top scoring teams in the Atlantic Region as they controlled possession to outshoot Charleston 12-3 in the half. Golden Eagle goalkeeper Catherin Perry kept her squad in the game with eight saves on the day but a three-goal 17 minute attack sealed the game for the home team.
UC managed just two shots on goal in the contest both of which were recorded for saves by EU keeper Kate Stukbauer.
The University of Charleston gets back to conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 4 with a 3:30 pm matchup against Concord at Schoenbaum Stadium.
