Men's Soccer Drops Tough Contest to No. 20 WV Wesleyan

Box Score

Buckhannon, W.Va.
- Thomas Ingall netted the only goal of the contest in the 60th minute as No. 20 WV Wesleyan defeated the University of Charleston men's soccer team, Saturday evening.

Charleston (2-2, 2-1) controlled possession for much of the contest as they outshot the home standing Bobcats (4-1, 2-0) 11-to-6 to force WV Wesleyan goalkeeper Ryan McDougall to make five saves in the contest.

Ingall made his only shot of the evening count as he managed to slip the ball through a pack of Golden Eagle defenders from in front of the net and past keeper Sean Teepen. Teepen recorded two saves in the game.

"The boys played well tonight...they dominated control of the ball and we had our chances, but just couldn't find the net tonight" said head coach Chris Grassie. "Wesleyan took advantage of the one chance they saw against our defense, but I thought overall we played well tonight. We now have to bounce back and earn a rematch with that team."

The University of Charleston was led offensively by Harry Machacha who recorded four shots with three coming on goal.

UC gets back to its home turf on Wednesday, Sept. 21 as Malone (OH) comes calling for a 6:00 pm matchup.
