CHARLESTON, W.Va. -
Erika Rousculp (Worthington, OH) dropped in 18 points as the University of Charleston cruised to a 102-79 win over West Virginia State in women's basketball Tuesday at Eddie King Gymnasium.
UC has won the last eight games in the Kanawha Valley rival.
"When we play poorly, we're insecure and play without confidence," said UC coach Sherry Winn, who now owns an 18-3 record all-time over State. "When we play well, we take it to the other team. I talked a lot about heart, passion and fire."
Rousculp, who leads the nation in rebounding with 14.9 per game, grabbed 11 boards for the Golden Eagles (7-8, 6-5 West Virginia Conference).
"She had a good game," added Winn. "If you watch her, she doesn't really jump. She just works hard and boxes out. It's all about desire."
Lauren Davis (Cincinnati, OH) led UC in scoring with 20 points, while Jordan Brock led State (7-9, 4-8) with 23.
UC will travel to Vienna on Saturday to battle Ohio Valley at 2 p.m., while State (7-9, 4-8) tackles the Fighting Scots on the road Monday at 5:30 p.m.
