VIENNA, W.Va. -
Tiffany Scott (Ottawa Lake, MI) led a balanced attack for the University of Charleston women's basketball team as she booked 13 points and a career-high eight rebounds in a 74-68 West Virginia Conference win, Saturday afternoon.
Ohio Valley (9-8, 5-6) hit four shots from three-point range to keep up with a 44 percent shooting effort by the Golden Eagles (8-8, 6-6) as the teams slipped into the locker room deadlocked at 34-34.
The second half was decided for the University of Charleston at the free throw line as the Golden Eagles took ownership of the paint to pressure a thin Fighting Scot lineup. UC came up big by netting 17-of-20 shots from the charity stripe, while a pesky defensive effort forced Ohio Valley to shoot just 33 percent after the break.
A deciding factor in the game came in the form of depth from the Golden Eagle bench as UC outscored OVU 20-to-9 to hand the visitors some breathing room down the stretch.
NCAA Division II rebounding leader
Erika Rousculp (Worthington, OH) continued her trend with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. The stat line for Rousculp was her 11th double-double of the season as she continues to be the top post-player in the WVIAC.
Point guard
Chrissy Keir (Savreville, NJ) booked 11 points in the contest with seven (7-of-9) coming from the foul line. Leading scorer
Lauren Davis (Cincinnati, OH) and
