ASHLAND, Ohio - The University of Charleston women's soccer team managed just five shots on the road as 2011 GLVC Finalist Ashland booked a 2-0 victory, Wednesday evening.

UC (0-5) played tough defense throughout the contest but a five minute span mid-way through the first half proved to be disasterous for the Golden Eagles. Ashland found the back of the net in the 21st and 25th minutes to take a 2-0 advantage they would not reliquish for the remainder of the contest.

Charleston's offense found more space to operate in the second half as they managed four shots and forcing two saves, yet the effort would not be rewarded on the scoreboard.

Courtney Budd (Egg Harbor, NJ) took the loss in goal despite registering nine saves between the posts for the University of Charleston.

The Golden Eagles continue their road swing and look to put a mark in the win column with a trip to WVIAC opponent Seton Hill on Saturday, Sept. 15.
