Win Streak Ends for Men's Soccer, Fall to Urbana

Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. - UC rode a four match win streak and an unbeaten October into the match against Urbana Wednesday evening but suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Blue Knights.

The first forty minutes of the first half saw very little offensive attack from either team as the teams would account for a total of seven shots between them for the entire half.  However, it would be Urbana who would find the back of the net in the 41st minute after UC keeper Fabian Veit would save an initial shot by Urbana only to give up a rebound attempt that Raymond Roberts would bury to give the Blue Knights a 1-0 lead that they would carry into halftime.

The second half was filled with end-to-end action and Charleston would have good build up through the midfield, but would stall out in the final third unable to penetrate the Urbana defense.  Coach Grassie would make a late change to create more opportunities for the Golden Eagles and it had it's effect giving UC 13 corners for the match.  Unfortunately for Charleston the goal would not come but would open up a late scoring chance for Urbana in the 90th minute as Yves Nzwanga would take advantage of a two-on-one and blast a close range shot past Veit, securing the 2-0 win for Urbana.

With loss Charleston drops to 8-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the Mountain East Conference.  UC has full week off before hosting Wheeling Jesuit next Wednesday.
