The UC Golden Eagles dropped a home MEC game to the Hilltoppers of West Liberty University. In the first half of the contest, a ball was played by the Hilltoppers toward the center of the 18 on the ground. UC's netminder, Jennifer Poppe left her line to clear the incoming ball. As she arrived, a UC defender and West Liberty player all met at once and no one cleared the ball. The ball would eventually roll into Charleston's net for the lone goal of the match.

UC played quality soccer and dominated much of the possession. UC outshot West Liberty 17-5 on the day and WL keeper Hannah Judkins made three tremendous saves to help West Liberty record their first MEC win of the 2013 season.

UC returns to action on Tuesday at Concord University.
