SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The #4 ranked University of Charleston Men's Soccer team defeated #18 ranked Notre Dame College 3-1 in a top 25 battle in South Euclid, OhioÂ
on Wednesday afternoon.Â
Â
The Golden Eagles, in their usual fashion, started the match strong and got on the scoresheet early as Freshmen
Kevin Feucht (Schwetzingen, Germany) battled through the Falcon's defense beating NDC's goalkeeper, putting UC up 1-0 in just the 11th minute. UC continued to possess and create chances, which paid off, as Feucht again found his way through the Falcon's defense only to slip a ball across the box to
Renan Ramos (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) who calmly found the back of the net for the 2-0 lead just 22 minutes in. The score remained 2-0 as the half finished with Charleston on top.
Â
The second half started with Charleston eager to find another goal, and they did just six minutes in as
Augusto Maciel (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added his ninth goal of the season putting the Golden Eagles up 3-0. The Falcon's were not finished however, as they pushed for a goal to get back on track. In the 66th minute, Roble Kalif received a ball inside the Charleston box and beat goalkeeper
Fabian Veit (Dielheim, Germany) to cut the lead to 3-1. UC didn't let this effect them as they continued to attack and earn chances. On three separate occasions they found themselves one against one with the goalkeeper but were unable to add any goals.Â
Â
