NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- The University of Charleston's Kevin Feucht (Schwetzingen, Germany) scored his second game-winner in as many games to help lead the Golden Eagles to a 1-0 win over LIU Post in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
With the win, the #1-ranked UC moves to 21-0-1 and advances to the NCAA Men's Soccer Semifinals where it will play the winner of Colorado Mesa and Cal State L.A. on December 4 in Louisville.
The Golden Eagles got the breakthrough goal in the 64th minute from Feucht his seventh of the season with assists coming from Will Roberts (Denbigh, Wales) and Augusto Maciel (Sao Paulo, Brazil) UC's leading point's man. The goal came immediately following a save by Charleston's goalkeeper Fabian Veit (Dielheim, Germany) taking advantage of the fast paced counter attack.
Post's best opportunity came off a corner kick in which Veit's initial save from the shot of Johann Kristjansson was bounced around and the cleared out of the box by Jules Gabbiadini (York, England). Veit would have to make two more saves to preserve the shutout for UC his 12th of the season.
