PLANT CITY, Fla. - Charleston opened up play against Wheaton College (Mass.) on their spring break trip Sunday afternoon, falling to the Lyons by a match score of 7-2.
Ana Pena won from her No. 1 singles spot 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 over Wheaton's Alexandra Marlowe and Mallika Mali continued her winning ways at the No. 6 position with a 6-2, 6-3 straight set victory over Caroline DiNicola.Â
No. 4 Jackie Bakos and No. 5 Taylor Todd pushed their opponents to the third set super tiebreaker before finally falling. Wheaton swept all three doubles matches to secure the 7-2 victory over the Golden Eagles.
