BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The UC Women's Tennis team picked up two wins over the weekend at the Bloomsburg Duals hosted by Bloomsburg University of the PSAC.
Charleston began play Saturday morning in a regional match against Kutztown University of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. UC quickly knocked off the Bears sweeping all three doubles matches and No. 2 & 3 singles courts on wins by Kelsey Hensley and Marieve Edwards to take the match 5-0.
The Golden Eagles continued play later that afternoon to take on Chestnut Hill College of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The Griffins are ranked 4th in the East Region as released by the NCAA last week. Chestnut Hill took care of Charleston, defeating the Golden Eagles 5-1. UC picked up a win on the No. 3 doubles court with the tandem of Taylor Todd and Courtney Pierron taking the match 8-1.
Charleston concluded play at the Duals this morning taking on the host, Bloomsburg University. The Golden Eagles earned another 5-0 victory over the Huskies after sweeping the three doubles matches and wins by Taylor Todd and Mallika Mali on the No. 4 & 5 singles courts.
UC finishes the regular season 15-11 and currently sits in 7th in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region rankings. The NCAA DII Selection Show will be on April 29th where Charleston will learn their post season fate.
