 West Liberty, W.Va. - The UC Golden Eagles Women's soccer team took on the West Liberty Hilltoppers at West Liberty University this afternoon, which resulted in a 2-1 loss for the Golden Eagles.
 
The Eagles now go 3-2 in conference play and  puts them 4-3-1 overall.
 
Emily Butler would score first, giving the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead over the Golden Eagles 10 :30 into the game. The Golden Eagles responded with a goal from Senior Holly Bigg off a deflection at the 38:22 minute mark. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of the first half.
 
After a hard fought game with multiple chances from the Golden Eagles, the game stayed tied1-1 at the end of the second half pushing the two teams into overtime.
 
After some minor injuries from the UC bench, the girls took the Hilltoppers into double overtime where the West Liberty Hilltoppers would score a heartbreaking goal against the Golden Eagles at the 109:43 minute.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Zyta had 7 saves. On the day, West Liberty outshot the Golden Eagles 17-14.
 
The Golden Eagles look to regroup as they play Concord on Tuesday at home. Game time is set for 2pm.
