CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston women's basketball team opens its season on Friday, November 3 when they make the short drive over to Institute for the MEC-PSAC Challenge. UC opens up the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania on Friday at 1 p.m., and concludes the tournament when they play Clarion on Sunday at 12 p.m.

HEREGolden Eagle Notes- Senior guard Chyress Lockhart returns to the Golden Eagle lineup after missing all of 2014-15 due to injury. Lockhart was an All-MEC First Team performer in 2014, leading UC to a NCAA Tournament berth.
- Charleston returns both starting post players in Monet Saunders and Kiara Johnson who combined to average 18.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per game.
- The Golden Eagles will be without its two leading scores from last season's MEC champion squad, losing both Nichole Perry and LeAnne Ross to graduation.
Scouting Ediboro Fighting ScotsEdinboro returns a trio of starters in two-time All-PSAC West performer Aignee' Freeland, Lauren Hippo, and Nicole Johnson. However, the 2015-16 Fighting Scots are a young team that must try to replace former All-Americans Laurel Lindsay and Valerie Majewski. Head coach Stan Swank must incorporate five freshmen into the mix.
The Last Time OutIn 2013-14, the Golden Eagle season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional, suffering a 64-62 loss to Edinboro.
