Urbana, Ohio - Chyress Lockhart (Euclid, Ohio) scored 22 points and added five assists as the Golden Eagles fall, 97-81 to the Blue Knights of Urbana University in the Grimes Center. Charleston was able to get within two points with 8:09 in the third quarter as Kiara Johnson (Jacksonville, Fl.) made back-to-back layups but never seemed to be able to grab the lead.

Fast-break points and the charity stripe allowed the Blue Knights to control the game as they had a 21 to 4 edge in fast-break points and a 36 to 10 advantage at the charity stripe connecting on 25 more free throws than Charleston. 

Danie Shafer led all scorers with 32 points and pulled down six rebouds. She was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and 9-for-17 from the field connecting on five three pointers. Kennedy Boggs added a game high eight assists to go with her 18 points.

Following Lockhart in the boxscore was Freshman Abby Watson (Hurricane, WV ) with 13 points shooting 50-percent from the field. Johnson and Mya Walker (Coumbus, OH) added 10 points and eight rebounds each. 

Charleston stays on the road for a Mountain East Conference match-up against Notre Dame College on Saturday in South Euclid, Ohio.
