Charleston, W.Va. - The Golden Eagles and the Golden Bears of Kutztown played to a 1-1 draw on a hot and sunny day in Charleston, W.Va. UC started the scoring at the 19:08 mark of the first half when sophomore Kelci Pettiford-Winters (New Albany, OH) found the feet of senior Isabella Jaffin (Nescopeck, PA) on a restart. Jaffin received the ball around the six yard line and poked the ball past Kutztown's keeper, Deanna Messner. Messner would finish the day with six saves.

In the second half of action, the Golden Bears were awarded a free kick on the top of the 18 yard line and Kutztown's Diana Malanga converted the restart to even the score 1-1. UC's keeper Zoe Zyta (Listowel, Ontario) would finish the game with five saves on the day. Both teams had scoring opportunities in the extra time. 

UC will travel to Urbana University for their first MEC match of the year on Tuesday at 2pm.
