CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Golden Eagle women's tennis team made quick work of a shorthanded Concord University squad, sweeping the visiting Mountain Lions 9-0 to move Charleston's 2016 unbeaten record to 4-0.
Concord brought just four players to the match which gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 match lead before the first serve. Â The remaining Mountain Lions were no match for the Golden Eagles, as UC dropped just two games total in six matches to claim the easy win. The victory sets up a MEC battle between UC and West Virginia State University on Wednesday with the winner likely to take the Mountain East Conference regular season title. Â Charleston will look to dethrone the Jackets on their home courts in Institute with the match set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
