CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Both the University of Charleston men's and women's soccer teams will battle for the Mountain East Conference Tournament Championships on Sunday after winning their semifinal matches late last week.

The UC women will have to travel to Notre Dame College to claim their first ever post season title, squaring off with the Falcons at 1:00 p.m. at Mueller Field on the Notre Dame campus.  Charleston and Notre Dame split the season matchups with the Golden Eagles defeating the Falcons 1-0 in South Euclid, Ohio on Sept. 25 and Notre Dame getting revenge against UC, 2-1, in double overtime on October 20 at the Fields at Trace Fork.  

Chrarleston advanced after a thrilling 1-0 overtime win over West Virginia Wesleyan while it took Notre Dame penalty kicks to defeat West Liberty after playing to a 2-2 draw after two overtime periods.

The No. 4 ranked Golden Eagle men will host No. 15 Urbana University for the MEC men's soccer tournament title.  UC enters its eighth straight tournament championship, winning the previous seven spanning between the WVIAC and the Mountain East Conference.  Charleston and the Blue Knights split the season series with the Golden Eagles winning at home in the third game of the season, 4-1, then fell to Urbana on the road 1-0 in mid-October.  Sunday's MEC Men's Soccer Final is set for a 4:00 p.m. start at Schoenbaum Stadium and will be live streamed HERE.
