INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 7, 2016) – The NCAA today announced its field for the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament. The University of Charleston women's soccer team received a bid for the 48-team tournament as the third seed in the Atlantic Region. They will square off against sixth-seeded Edinboro in a first-round matchup, hosted by Kutztown University, on Friday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m.
 
Friday's contest will be a rematch of last year's NCAA Atlantic Region first-round matchup between the Fighting Scots and Golden Eagles. In a match that featured three lightning delays, Charleston fell in penalty kicks, 3-1, after a scoreless draw in a cold, windy, rain-drenched contest at Gannon University. The winner will go on to play the second-seeded Golden Bears on Sunday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. Charleston finished as the runners-up in the Mountain East Conference, holding a 14-3-3 overall record and a 13-2-1 league mark. Edinboro is 13-4-1 overall and completed the regular season 12-3-1 in the PSAC.
 
UC heads to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament under head coach Todd Diuguid, their only two appearances in the history of the program. The Golden Eagles look to build on their first ever NCAA postseason from last season as the third-seed in the Atlantic Region
