CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles dropped their second straight game Thursday evening, falling to West Virginia Wesleyan College, 50-56, at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex.

Chyress Lockhart led Charleston with 19 points and five assists in the loss. Abby Watson was the only other Golden Eagle in double figures, scoring 10 all of which came in the first half. The Bobcats were paced by Mari Stewart's 19 points and eight rebounds.

UC trailed by by only one at the half, 29-30, and scored the first bucket of the third period, a jumper by Kiara Johnson, to take a quick lead. Wesleyan responded with an 8-0 run that put the Bobcats in the driver's seat for the remainder of the game.Â

Once down 11, UC made things interesting in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to one, 47-48, with 4:19 to play after a Lockhart triple. The Bobcats again had an answer, scoring the next six points over a four-minute span to leave Charleston with a 56-50 win over the Golden Eagles.

UC goes on the road Saturday to play Glenville State College with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m.
