CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles (3-6, 3-6 MEC) fell on the road to the No. 2 Shepherd University Rams (9-0, 9-0 MEC).

-Mason Olszewski threw for 315 yards in the UC victory, just on yard short of the all-time record at UC. Tevion Cappe tallied 63 yards on the ground and one touchdown. Senior receiver Johnny Delahoussaey notched 113 yards receiving for UC.

-Jaylen McNair threw for 149 yards for two touchdowns for Glenville.

How it Happened
-UC had a chance midway through the first quarter, but a flag brought the play back, and a missed UC field goal kept the score tied. At the end of the first quarter the score remained tied 0-0.
-Glenville State got on the board first when McNair connected with Williams on a 32-yard pass. The pioneers converted the PAT giving them the 7-0 lead over the Golden Eagles.
-With 9:13 to play in the second, Tevion Cappe took the ball four yards for the touchdown. Charleston tied the game up on the PAT.
-With 4:43 to go in the first half, Andre Dalton picked off the UC pass to take over on the Charleston 48-yard line.
-With just over one minute to play Olszewski, finds Dellahoussey for a 43- yard ball give UC the first down in Glenville territory. Vernard Roberts takes the ball one yard to give the Golden Eagles the 14-6 lead. Miles converts the PAT to give UC the one score lead.
-With 11 seconds to go in the half, a poor kick by Glenville results in a UC recovery. UC went for a 37-yard field goal, but could not convert.
-Following the break, Mason Olszewski opens up the second half with a 38-yard pass to James Bryant to give UC the 21-7 lead with 13:29 left to play
-With 7:40 to play in the third, linebacker Keon Mabin picked off the Glenville pass and returned the ball seven yards for the UC touchdown. After the PAT the Golden Eagles led the Pioneers 28-7.
-UC had another opportunity with 4:19 left to play in the third, but Olszewski's pass was picked off once again by Andre Dalton. Glenville's next drive started on their own 23.
-With 28 seconds to play in the third Jaylen McNair connected with DJ Williams to bring the Pioneers within 14.
-Four minutes into the fourth quarter, UC fumbled at the Glenville 25. The ball was recovered by Glenville's Tristan Freeman.
-Charleston would go on to win 28-14 in their final game of the 2017 season.
