CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston women's basketball captured their third victory in MEC play Wednesday evening defeating visiting Concord University 78-63 at the Wehrle Innovation Center to remain unbeaten in conference action.

How it Happened
Charleston found themselves down three, 9-6, midway through the first period before rallying to take a two-point lead into the second quarter following a Madison Jones triple with :52 seconds left on the first quarter clock. UC used a 6-0 run aided by consecutive buckets by Brooklyn Pannell to extend their lead to seven, 23-16, halfway through the second as the Golden Eagles limited Concord to just nine points in the 10-minute quarter. UC would take a 31-23 lead into halftime.
Charleston built on their halftime advantage extending their lead to 14, 45-31, at a point in the third period only to see Concord claw their way back into the game and make it a single-digit deficit heading to the fourth and final period, 49-40. UC saved their best play for the final 10 minutes, growing their lead to as many as 22, 69-47, at the midway point of the fourth quarter by using an 8-0 run capped by an Octavia Loll fastbreak layup. The Golden Eagles cruised down the stretch for a 78-63 win to move to 3-0 in Mountain East Conference play.
