CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Charleston Women's Basketball (12-19) team fell in the Mountain East Conference Semifinals to Fairmont State (19-11).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fairmont State jumped out in front in the first quarter holding on to the 19-14 lead to close out the period.
- Charleston fought during the early minutes of the second. Fairmont shot 44.4 percent in the quarter to increase their lead to 14 points to close the half leading Charleston 39-25.
- Coming out of the break Charleston could not seem to put the ball away, shooting only 16.7 percent from the field. Fairmont State increased their lead to 24 with just under a minute to go. Charleston would go into the final period down 56-32.
- Charleston clawed their way back into the game, but the clock was not on their side. With 1:34 to go in the fourth Fairmont State led the Golden Eagles 69-53 and closed out the Mountain East Conference Semi finals leading Charleston 71-57.

- Abby Watson led the Golden Eagles with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
FIGHTING FLACON LEADERS
- Deidra Combs scored 23 to lead Fairmont State.
- Makenzie White led the Falcons with 9 rebounds.
