CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- University of Charleston women's tennis made their home debut Monday afternoon against Davis & Elkins College, defeating the Senators 8-1 to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The Golden Eagles got wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles to carry a 2-1 lead into singles play.  Silva Slusarciuc was first off the court in singles, dishing up a pair of 6-0, 6-0 sets to put UC ahead 3-1.  Slusarciuc has yet to yield a game in both of her singles matches this fall, outscoring her opponents 24-0 so far.  All six singles courts were won in straight sets as the Golden Eagles cruised to the 8-1 victory.
Freshmen Katie Swann and Bri Guthrie are off to fast starts to their UC careers, unbeaten in singles through two matches.
