 How it Happened
Charleston found themselves in a battle with the winless Cardinals, being outshot in the first half 6-3, forcing Golden Eagle keeper Zoe Zyta into three saves to keep the game at 0-0 after 45 minutes of play.

UC exited halftime with a bit more energy and intent, looking to leave Wheeling with a victory, outshooting the Cardinals 9-4 during the second half.  The game remained deadlocked and seemed to destined for extra time, but junior Marlee Coleman and freshman Alana Mikulis had other thoughts in the 85th minute.  Coleman slipped a pass into the box in the path of Mikulis who beat her mark and slotted with her left foot past the Cardinal keeper to secure an important road win for Coach Diuguid's Golden Eagles.

Mikulis' goal was her second of the season and it was Coleman's first assist of 2017.  Zyta finished the shutout with seven saves on 10 shots faced from the Cardinals.
