CHARLESTON, W.Va. – University of Charleston women's tennis captured their fourth win on the season, defeating Fairmont State University at the Ivan Bolarsky Tennis Center by a score of 8-1 to improve to 2-0 in Mountain East Conference play.
The Golden Eagles swept all three doubles courts in comfortable fashion to take a 3-0 lead into singles play. UC and Fairmont split the matches that went to a super tiebreaker with Kristine Gegeshidze narrowly earning a victory at No. 1 singles while FSU's Isadora Matos claimed the Falcons only court on the day at No. 3 singles. The Golden Eagles went on to win the remaining singles courts by straight sets to take their overall record to 3-0 on the season.
The Golden Eagles travel to Wise, Va. next Tuesday to take on the Cavaliers at the University of Virginia College at Wise.
