How it Happened
-The Golden Eagles jumped ahead 1-0 with a goal by David Achaerandio 20 minutes into the match. Four minutes after Achaerandio's goal, junior midfielder Patrick Guier sent a driven ball past the Bobcat's goal keeper to give Charleston the 2-0 advantage.
-With just over 12 minutes to go in the first half WVWC found the goal with a goal by midfielder Paul Smith. In the waning minutes of the first half, Kieran Bywater took a corner for the Golden Eagles and found the head of defenseman, Robin Lapert to give the Golden Eagles a 3-1 going into the break.
-Fifteen minutes into the second half the Bobcats cut the Golden Eagle lead to just one goal with a shot by Matthew Bentley. Sixteen minutes later Paul Smith scored his second goal of the game for WVWC and tied the game up 3-3.
-The score remained tied until the final minutes of regulation. A late penalty in the box by WVWC put Guier on the spot with the chance to take the lead. Guier converted to give UC the 4-3 lead with just over three minutes to go.
-Gabriel Cabral safely sealed the UC victory with an 88th minute goal to give Cahrleston the 5-3 lead.
-Charleston would take the victory and improve to 9-0 on the season.
