CHARLESTON, W.Va. – No. 5 Charleston (11-0-2, 9-0-1 MEC) downed the firebirds of the University of the District of the Columbia (4-7-1, 2-3 ECC) 3-0 in non-conference action.

How it Happened
With 23:12 left to play in the first half, Danilo Dias played the ball into the box, where Freddy Tracey took the one-timer and send the ball into the back of the net, to put UC up 1-0.
75 minutes into the contest the Golden Eagles were awarded their first penalty opportunity of the season, Gabriel Cabral put the ball away on the attempt for the Golden Eagles for the first of his career. In the final five minutes of regulation, the Golden Eagles scored off a corner kick from Acahaerandio that found the head of Javier Gonzales who put the ball away.
Charleston held on in the final minutes take the 3-0 victory.
The Golden Eagles kept the steam on outshooting their opponents 12-2, and tallying nine corner kicks to the Firebirds three.
