How it Happened
From the get go, both nationally ranked teams knew this would be a physical game. The Golden Eagles started off with a strong push and took advantage of the high amount of fouls being called and got on the board in the 17th minute. The goal came way from Gabriel Cabral off of a penalty kick. The Golden Eagles defense held off the Falcons and went unanswered for the rest of the first half.

In the second half, the Falcons quickly tied the game back up. With 36:50 still left to play in the game Giulio Bellei sent the ball into Lewis Norvock who put his team on the board. For the rest of the half Charleston picked up the pace and tried to take advantage of the many corner kicks they were awarded, but the Eagles could not find the back of the next. Regulation ended with a score of 1-1 and the game headed into overtime.

Overtime started in exciting fashion for the Golden Eagles with two shots on goal and a corner kick within the first four minutes. The Eagles had the momentum and took advantage. It didn't take long for Christos Charalambous to find the back of the net. Assisted by Tam Dimairo and Ettore Ballestracci, Charalambous scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute.
