How it Happened
Charleston Women's Soccer had a heartbreaking loss on Tuesday afternoon after falling 4-2 to the Concord Mountain Lions. Concord took control of the game early, scoring in the 12thminute to take the lead. Less than 11 minutes later, the Mountain Lions scored off of a corner, giving themselves a 2-0 lead over UC. The Golden Eagles had some opportunities in the first half, but couldn't seem to capitalize on them, trailing CU 2-0 heading into the half.

The second half of play was an intense one between the two sides, as both teams worked to win and advance to the MEC Semifinals. Senior Marlee Coleman used her energy to give UC their first goal of the game off of a cross from Claire Couturier, closing the gap between the two sides and making the score 2-1. However, Concord answered back less than 30 seconds later, adding another goal to the score, making it 3-1.

Concord's scoring frenzy wasn't over yet, finishing another opportunity 10 minutes later to put the game at 4-1. The Golden Eagles, however, fought back, as freshman Keira Hill gave UC their second goal of the day off of an Alana Mikulis cross at the 79 minute-mark. This goal wasn't enough for the Golden Eagles to take the game, falling to the Mountain Lions 4-2, ending their 2018 season.
