How it Happened
The Golden Eagles meant business on Thursday evening, starting the Mountain East Conference game against the Urbana Blue Knights with a goal in the first 10 minutes by freshman standout Keira Hill.
Charleston's momentum didn't stop there, as they sent in shot after shot against the Blue Knights, putting another one in the back of the net less than eight minutes later. Freshman defender Madison Hansen finished the ball, after UC was given a penalty kick in the box after an Urbana foul, giving UC a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
The second half of play was even for the two sides, as the possession went back and forth between the two. Charleston's goalkeepers, freshman Kaylee Hensley, and junior Carol Burgess each added a clean sheet to their records, as UC shutout the Blue Knights 2-0.
