How it Happened
Shepherd University took lead of the game early, outscoring Charleston by nine points heading in to the second quarter inside of the Butcher Center Arena. The Rams continued to lead, heading into the second half up by 13 points.
UC began to gain speed in the third quarter, scoring seven more than Shepherd, narrowing the lead to eight points. The Golden Eagles couldn't gain enough stamina to lead at any point of the game, going 2-20 on the three-point line, and only made 35.6% of their total shots.
The Shepherd Rams were 47.2% successful shooting, and forced eight turnovers against the Golden Eagles. Shepherd was led by Sydney Clayton with a total of 16 points, and seven rebounds.
