CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston women's tennis chalked up another win to add to their record, defeating the Edinboro Fighting Scots 9-0 on Friday evening, moving to 15-4 on the season.
The Golden Eagled made quick work of their opponents, sweeping the match on both the doubles and singles side of play. Katie Swann and Elise Edwards led UC at No. 1 doubles, pulling an 8-5 win over Edinboro. Kristine Gegeshidze and Silvana Slusarciuc at No. 2 doubles shared a similar story as they won 8-5, followed by Alize Uyttenhove and Briahn Guthrie who won their No. 3 doubles match.
Heading into singles play, Charleston continued to dominate the courts. Katie Swann at No. 1 singles defeat her EU opponent 8-5, while the rest of the Golden Eagles did the same, making for an overall successful match, defeating Edinboro 9-0.
Charleston will face Mercyhurst University on Saturday, March 31 at 12:00 p.m. in Erie, PA.
