CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston closed out their MEC road schedule with a split with the Glenville State Pioneers.

How it Happened
GAME 1:
The two teams played through five scoreless innings before Camille Manzo hit a SAC fly to right field sending Haleigh Christopher home. The Pioneers were unable to get any more offense going in the seventh inning giving UC the 1-0 victory in game one.
GAME 2:
The Golden Eagles got on the board first with a double by Karli Pinkerton in the top of the first sending AJ Martin home for the 1-0 lead, but the Pioneers answered in the bottom of the first when Paranda Uber hit a two-run homer to left field to take the lead.
In the top of the second Julia DeSalvo singled to right center sending Kendall Marshall home to tie the game up for Charleston. Charleston expanded their lead by two runs with a two-run homer by Haleigh Christopher in the top of the third, but a three-run bomb from Hannah Wright in the bottom of the fourth gave the Pioneers the 5-4 lead and thus edging out the Golden Eagles from victory in game two.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Salem, West Virginia for a double header against the Salem University Tigers on Wednesday. Game one is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
