FULL RESULTS

ERIE, Pa. -- University of Charleston women's tennis completed the sweep of the ITA Atlantic Region Singles and Doubles Championships this afternoon after occupying all four spots in the finals.

UC's Kristine Gegeshidze and Katie Swann repeated as the doubles champion after knocking off teammates Elise Edwards and Silvana Slusarciuc in the final, 6-3, 6-0.  Gegeshidze and Swann will represent the Atlantic Region for the second consecutive year in the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships on Nov. 7 - 11 in Surprise, Ariz.

Gegeshidze and Swann then squared off against one another in the singles final with Gegeshidze outlasting Swann in the championship, 6-3, 6-3.  Gegeshidze becomes the first Golden Eagle women's tennis player to earn a spot in the singles draw at the ITA National Fall Championships.  

Other notable performances from the ITA Regional was Edwards battling through the A Singles consolation bracket to claim the back draw title.  Charleston freshmen Regina Saucedo and Mathilde Simon paired up to earn the B Doubles consolation title over West Liberty's McLean and Ponti.  

The Golden Eagles return to the court this Thursday to take on Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va.  First serve with the Senators is set for 3:00 p.m.
