ELKINS, W.Va. -- University of Charleston women's tennis began their dual match Fall season with an impressive 6-1 victory on the road at Davis & Elkins College on Thursday afternoon.
The Senators, playing only five players, started the match in a hole down 2-0 to the Golden Eagles before the first serve. Â Things got better for UC as they swept both No. 1 & 2 doubles to quickly claim a 4-0 lead. Â Elise Edwards clinched the match at No. 3 singles, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win over her Senator opponent. Â UC claimed wins at No. 2 through No. 5 singles on their way to a decisive 8-1 win.
Charleston returns to the court on Saturday evening as they travel to Evansville, Ind. to take on the University of Southern Indiana. Â First serve is set for 5:00 p.m.
