How it Happened
The first half of play was even between the Golden Eagles and the Knights, each with shots at goal, and no goals in the back of the net. Freshman goalkeeper Kaylee Hensley kept Charleston in the game, blocking Bellarmine from a few close calls in the first 45 minutes of play. The second half was a similar story, with close shots from UC's Alana Mikulis and Madison Hansen. However, the Golden Eagles could not keep their sheet clean, allowing Bellarmine's Elise Markley to finish one off of a corner kick for the Knights. Charleston could not find the momentum to make the game even, falling in regular time to BU 1-0.
Up Next
Charleston will travel to West Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., to take on the Bobcats in their first MEC game of the season.
