LILBURN, Ga. – The Golden Eagles (13-1, 8-0 MEC) have moved up to No. 20 in the WBCA Dll Coaches' Poll, announced Tuedsday. Charleston was previously ranked No. 25 last week after cracking into the rankings for the first time since 2006, under first-year head coach,
Becky Burke.
Charleston (previously No. 25) improved to 13-1 on the season, 8-0 in MEC play after a 68-26 victory over Wheeling Jesuit, and a 87-84 victory over the West Liberty Hilltoppers. The Golden Eagles rallied in the second half to complete a historic come back victory, overcoming a 25-point deficit.
The Golden Eagles are the lone Mountain East Conference (MEC) school in the top 25. No. 1, IUP (13-0 ), Cal U (13-1) at No. 15, and, Virginia Union (14-1) at No. 12 are among the other Atlantic Region Schools who join the Golden Eagles in the top 25.
